Verdugo Hills Community Hike and Trail Run

Glendale pulled out in 2011 so there is no 13.8 trail run from Brand Park.

1st Saturday in November, Burbank, CA, 7:30 AM Trail Run or 8:00 AM Hike Start.
Hike, Walk or Run in the Verdugo Hills for 7.2, 8 or 13.8 Miles round trip. $10 before Oct 29 or $20 after gets you lunch and a Hike souvenir.
Check out the trails and view from atop the Verdugo Hills.

App and info: call 818-548-2184 or click on Verdugo Hills above to go to their web site for registration form and trail map.

Put on your hiking boots and join the communities of Burbank, Glendale, and Crescenta Valley in a day of exploring the hiking trails and visiting the points of interest in your other backyard, the Verdugo Hills.

Leave from one of 3 starting points - La Tuna Canyon (8 miles round trip and easiest), Strough Canyon Nature Center in Burbank (7.2 miles) or Brand Park in Glendale (13.8 miles). The Summit for all hike starting points and the trail run is Fire Warden's Grove, aka the Experimental Forest. The 13.8 is a good training run for the Catalina Eco Marathon, Ridgecrest 30K/50K and Avalon 50 Mile in sequence.

Included in the registration fee is a lunch for hikers or breakfast for trail runners - served at the run's summit: juice, water, breakfast burrito's, hot dogs and chips.
All participants receive a Verdugo Hills Community Hike souvenir.
Docent led hike available at 8:30 AM from Stough Nature Center.

Hikers and runners should bring water and wear appropriate hiking or running shoes, hat and sunscreen. Strollers are not recommended on the hike or run.
