The Mt. Wilson loop is a scenic 14 mile series of trails from Chantry Flat used by many as a long training run for trail marathons and ultras. Water is available at Sturtevant Camp and at the north end of the Mt. Wilson parking lot. The first half has about a 4000 ft climb with the toughest being the 3 miles from Sturtevant Camp to Mt. Wilson. As an alternative, some prefer to do an out and back using the Upper Winter Creek trail. ![]() Trail Map
The David Trinkle Bench on Manzantia Ridge is a good spot to take a break, eat some trail food, empty out the rocks in your shoes and adjust your pack. |
