Until the Thursday before, you can also register at the Run With Us Store, 235 N Lake Ave in Pasadena. You can also sign up on the Friday before the race at the Santa Anita Mall (4-6:30pm) or race day from 6:30am.

This is an annual club race so wear your Foothill Flyers clothing and meet at the Starting Gate at 7:45am for the club group photo.
See the videos of the 2014 event.

The course starts in the south parking lot of the Santa Anita Race Track parking lot and ends with the last quarter mile on the actual race track. It is listed as fast and flat, but we local runners know that Baldwin goes up hill from Huntington Drive so dont expect a 5K Personal Best. There are a number of turns and the peacocks and ducks have the right of way in the Arboretum. This is a fun and picturesque event. See the course map shown at right.

There are a number of activities on the Infield when you finish. If you are staying for the horse races and go back to your car to change make sure you get your hand stamped at the gate and to bring your bib number back with you.

Your race bib will get you 2 free beers at the beer garden - if you don't normally have beer for breakfast, find and donate your beers to the club table. There are many running expo booths, food samples, massages and a live band. You also get free parking if you arrive before 8 AM and entire day race track entrance. Free passes are also available for the non-runners with you. The horse races start at noon and the actual Santa Anita Derby race at 4:00 PM. If you have never seen a horse race or wondered what the inside of the Santa Anita Race Track looked like, this is a great way to experience it with a large group of runners. Some of us gather at The Midline Carvery on level 3 near the Clubhouse for the best corned beef on rye sandwiches about 11am and then hang out near the winners circle to watch the first race at noon.

By the closing of the Beer Garden, we had over 100 cups in the pyramid. A new record.

You get to finish on the race track like a thoroughbred.
