The Location: Fish Camp, CA, Green Meadows School - On Hiway 41, two miles south of the southern entrance to Yosemite National Park, 50 miles NE of Fresno CA. See CA Hwy map on Shadow of the Giants web site.

The Course: Scenic historic trails through the Sierra National Forest. The run takes you past 2700 year old Giant Sequoias in the famous Nelder Grove. The Fun Run loop is actually 15K, and the 50K is actually a little less than 33 miles, but who's counting? Elevation is 5,000 - 6,500 ft. About 2/3 of the course is on jeep roads and the rest on single track trails all in the forest. Finish time limit is 8 hours with a cut off at 1:20 PM at the Jackson Rd 24 mile aid station. Like most trail ultra's, you need to pack water and enegry food as it can get warm and the aid stations are some miles apart. Pets are not allowed on the trail, so please leave your doggies at home!

Camping is free in the Green Meadows School parking lot, first come first served. Bunk house style beds in cabins are available for $12 per night. There are hotels and motels in the Fish Camp area but are a bit pricie. Some prefer the Wawona Campground 10 miles inside Yosemite but those are reserved ahead fast.
