Here is a marathon that is just perfect for Weekend Warriors and/or Team Couch Potato. The Little Rock Arkansas Marathon claims that they have the Largest Marathon finishers medal in world. They are very walker (or slow runner) friendly with a 2 hour head start for anyone that will take longer than 6 hours. Package pickup and the host hotel are 2 blocks from the start finish and for us gals (and some guys) there is a lipstick station at mile 26 with plenty of mirrors and free lipstick from one of the sponsers so we can look our best as we cross the finish line.

Before the race we were glued to the Weather Channel watching a big storm come in and trying to decide how many layers to wear during the race. The big cold storm moved in about 5 miles into the race and the temps went from 50 degree down to the 30's. The race directors decided that the lightning, rain and hail were making the situation too dangerous and rerouted the race to get everyone back to the finish area. Since MG, Denh, Robert and I took the optional early start,were far enough into the race that we were able to finish. Tina started at the later start and was rerouted and completed about 15 miles before crossing the finish line. Everyone received their medals and were happy to get back to the hotel to thaw out. The next morning we woke up to snow and 17 degrees!! Good thing that snow didn't arrive a day earlier.
